Sheikh Hasina's letter to Bangladesh

Prior to her arrest the former prime-minister of Bangladesh wrote a letter addressed to the people of Bangladesh. The letter urges followers to continue with political actions to free the people of Bangladesh from their misery, and, eventually secure her freedom!

Sheikh Hasina's letter to Dubya

Sheikh Hasina sent a letter to the US President on January 9 this year. Contents of Sheikh Hasina’s letter to the US President were full of elements damaging the countries image abroad.

The Army-led Joint Forces recovered documents to damage the image of the country abroad and rig elections, from the residence of Awami League Advisory Council member Mokammel Haque. The documents recovered from Mokammel’s residence also included names of persons, whom the Awami League (AL) wanted to appoint as Chief Election Commissioner, Election Commissioners.

The documents show that 80 per cent of the reshuffles carried out during the Caretaker Government headed by President Prof Dr Iajuddin Ahmed were done on the basis of the Awami League recommendations.

Bangladesh police detain Sheikh Hasina

DHAKA (Reuters) - Former Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina was arrested from her Dhaka home on Monday and taken to a local court, her party said.

It was not immediately clear on what charges Hasina was detained, but she has previously faced murder charges during political violence late last year and allegations of extortion.

Television channels showed hundreds of policmen escorting Hasina, the chief of the Awami League party, to a metropolitan court. Police had surrounded Hasina's house since Sunday midnight, witnesses said.
